Metal Gear Solid: The Twin SnakesMetal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes
Buy used from: $29.35
The Wii plays Nintendo Gamecube games as well. The Metal Gears since MGS1/The Twin Snakes have gotten very linear and are more like quasi-movies (especially MGS3 & MGS4). What was great about MGS1 was that you were part of an incredible story that was propelled by your actions whilst figuring out hard puzzles dealing with stealth.
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year DoorPaper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door
Buy new: $49.95 / Used from: $12.98
This game is the Gamecube predecessor to 'Super Paper Mario.' The game before 'The Thousand-Year Door' was 'Paper Mario' (N64). BEFORE THAT WAS...'Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars' (SNES). 'Paper Mario' and 'Mario RPG' are available for download from the virtual console! I highly recommend 'Mario RPG' (made by the team behind 'Final Fantasy' & 'Chrono Trigger').
Super Paper MarioSuper Paper Mario
Buy new: $23.85 / Used from: $10.49
When it comes to the games available through the Wii Shop Channel, I recommend getting 'Bomberman Blast' and 'Tales of Monkey Island' from the WiiWare section. As for the Virtual Console--if you are an RPG lover there are many choices in the SNES, Genesis, and NES categories.
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight PrincessThe Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Buy new: $29.76 / Used from: $8.99
Good game, I wish Nintendo would spend a little more time on making a more adult and complex story though. It's hard to feel the emotions if it's not serious. It can be pretty dark at times but the whole drenched in twilight thing didn't really get to me as being that bad for Hyrule's denizens.
Resident Evil 4Resident Evil 4
Buy new: $9.99 / Used from: $6.99
The downside of the Wii is that for many games...Nintendo makes one mode within a game really incredible and then makes the other mode totally suck--or they hit you with something revolutionary and then they don't take it the obvious whole 9 yards that any experienced gamer knows should be included. For an example of what I mean scroll down to where I've included 'Wii Fit Plus.'
SanDisk SDSDG-2048-A11 2GB SD GamingSanDisk SDSDG-2048-A11 2GB SD Gaming
Buy new: $12.99 / Used from: $6.99
Goes in the front of your Wii, right under the red button used for re-aligning the sensors. Gives you an extra 2gb for storing games, or channels, that you've downloaded. Seems like this storage could be used for awesome game-related content or new Mii hair-dos and shirts, but unfortunately so far it's just save games...pretty lame. You can also load digital photos into them but that's also lame.
Wii Fit Plus with Balance BoardWii Fit Plus with Balance Board
Buy new: $89.54 / Used from: $69.99
Play the snowball fight & the obstacle course, you'll be floored. Freaking amazing. Why the heck didn't they include a split screen 2-player mode or a Wi-fi mode where you can snowball fight someone online! Why?! Here is this amazing obstacle course mode but it's such a small part of the game, & you should be able to look around with the nunchuk!
Mario Kart Wii with Wii WheelMario Kart Wii with Wii Wheel
Buy new: $45.28 / Used from: $37.00
Best Mario Kart yet, but they ruined the battle mode. You'll need at least 1 more Wii Wheel to really enjoy it with a friend. The Wii Wheel has its own sensor and is not just a hunk of plastic. What stinks is that you can only go online with up to 2 people on one Wii. Yeah you can connect for a total of 12 people online but why can't you take the 4-player split screen online?
Super Mario Galaxy 2Super Mario Galaxy 2
Buy new: $44.99 / Used from: $31.48
Get this instead of 'New Super Mario Bros,' in that game u can play the adventure mode w/ people or with yourself but there is also a crappy multi-player-non-story mode. The multi-player-non-story mode is terrible. Playing w/ other ppl in the story mode is much better but once you've completed all the challenges there is no reason to ever put 'New Super Mario Bros.' back in your Wii again!
Super Smash Bros. BrawlSuper Smash Bros. Brawl
Buy new: $44.99 / Used from: $29.33
This is a tried and true formula. The controls seem slightly off when compared with the original games, and the raised level of insanity makes the game a little less calculated and more random nonsense.
Dokapon KingdomDokapon Kingdom
Buy new: $69.48 / Used from: $39.00
Get 2 or 3 friends over to play this game w/ you--y'all will have nearly countless hours of fun. The Dokapon series began a long time ago on the Gameboy. The series mascot, the Wabbit, is back again--with his hand-ears. Played by yourself, this game is no good, so make sure you've got 2 or 3 bodies to play it with! Also, make sure you play the story-mode in multi-player as it's more fun.
Big Brain Academy: Wii DegreeBig Brain Academy: Wii Degree
Buy new: $35.19 / Used from: $11.42
When you take the 'test' you'll see its merits. The multiplayer mode is bad--but that's not to say that this game is not an incredible multi-player game. Why? Well what's fun is having your friends take the test and then looking at your scores compared in the 'hallway' & then trying to get all the medals in 'practice.' You take the test again & again to improve your grade & enlarge your brain!
WarioWare: Smooth MovesWarioWare: Smooth Moves
Buy new: $54.95 / Used from: $18.97
They ruined battle in 'Mario Kart Wii.' In 'Mario Kart 64' battle was a sacred, deceptively simple, & often extremely intense experience. 'Mario Kart Wii' has convoluted everything by making it timed rather than stock, & by having your balloons regenerate. Stock means a game of survival-which makes things visceral. This is why ppl change Smash to stock when they brawl. Get back 2 basics!
Official Wii Speak MicrophoneOfficial Wii Speak Microphone
Buy new: $9.48 / Used from: $7.00
This is a really cool little mic that goes on top of your sensor bar. It's actually really awesome and comes with a new channel to download! Get it asap! Recently it's been on sale at Best Buy! Buy it new because they all come with a one-time use code to download the Wii Speak Channel.
Endless Ocean: Blue World with Wii SpeakEndless Ocean: Blue World with Wii Speak
Buy new: $48.89 / Used from: $31.95
Awesome. Unique. If you give it a chance you might fall in love with it. Many people can't stand to read subtitles while characters pretend to talk but that's the only negative point. It's truly a deep game.
Monster Hunter TriMonster Hunter Tri
Buy new: $18.48 / Used from: $14.48
Works w/ the Wii Speak accessory! We really need ToeJam & Earl Productions to make a re-make of 'ToeJam & Earl' that basically will be the obstacle course from 'Wii Fit Plus' but with you as ToeJam or Earl. You'll avoid falling off the levels and run from mad earthlings. Hopefully they'd let you throw tomatoes, look around with the nunchuk, move 360 degrees, allow split-screen, & have online-play.

Nyko Wireless Sensor Bar for WiiNyko Wireless Sensor Bar for Wii
Buy used from: $31.99
I'm trying to get my hands on this bar right now. You can use it in addition to the Wii's regular sensor bar by stacking it on top! It improves the range greatly.
